Should I buy it now or wait for a sale?

Work backwards from when you need it. If the sale starts after the date you need the piece, plus delivery time, buy now. If you need it later, the piece is a basic or a seasonal item, and the sale is close, wait. Do not buy anything in a sale you would not buy at full price.
