What should I wear for Ganesh Chaturthi?
In Maharashtra the classic is a nauvari or Paithani saree with a nath and green bangles for women, and a kurta with dhoti or pyjama and a Nehru jacket for men. Elsewhere, bright kurta sets in yellow, orange, red and green are common. For the visarjan procession, wear something you can walk and dance in for hours, and nothing delicate near the gulal.
