What should I wear for Onam or Pongal?
Onam calls for the kasavu saree or mundu, off-white with a gold border, and jasmine in the hair. Pongal is similar in spirit: a cotton or silk saree in bright colours, a veshti and shirt for men. Both are daytime, outdoor and warm, so natural fabrics and flat footwear.
