What to wear to a wedding as a guest in India?
Match the event, not the couple. Sangeet and mehendi take colour and movement: a lehenga, a sharara, a bright kurta set, a printed saree. The wedding ceremony takes richer fabric and more cover: silk, brocade, a bandhgala or a sherwani for men. The reception is where you go darker and sleeker.
